Langley Arts Fund Announces: It’s a Wrap

Whidbey artist Kathy Lull’s lovely, colorful image wraps a telecom box at Third and Park, brightening the busy intersection

LANGLEY, WA, July 27, 2022 — The Langley Arts Fund (LAF) has transformed a telecom utility box with an image created by Whidbey Island artist Kathy Lull. “We had a call for artists last summer, but it took almost a year to get this wrap in place,” said Diane Divelbess, the LAF member who oversees the Utility Wrap Program. “We finally connected with Humphrey Sign Company in Oak Harbor, and they delivered!”

This is the second wrap that LAF has placed. In 2020, they wrapped a box on Second Street in front of Sweet Mona’s Chocolates with an image created by Whidbey artist Kay Parsons. This is only the beginning—LAF has plans to wrap eight more Langley boxes over the next two years. In addition, LAF continues to place sculpture in Langley, and is laying plans for other exciting new public art projects.
